Kris Aquino network transfer

Kris Aquino, who is currently in London to bond with sons Bimby and Josh, said that the vacation is also her way of evading intrigues. "Para iwas intriga na rin muna kasi napapabalita 'yung pagre-renew [ng contract]. Magmumuni-muni po at aalis," she told ABS-CBN News.

On Friday, however, Kris posted a meaningful message on Instagram, pertaining to the much talked-about network transfer. Kris said that she's asking for guidance and wisdom about a big decision she will make.

"Good Morning from London... Going to Mass at noon. First Friday, time to bring back my Sacred Heart of Jesus devotion... Time to say THANK YOU, for the blessing of 300 million +++ in the box office for My Little Bossings... Time to ask for GUIDANCE & WISDOM..."

Kris also said that in making this decision, she will consider what her fans want, apart from what's beneficial for his two sons.

"Pls know that whatever decision I make, apart from considering what will be most beneficial for my 2 sons, it's very important to me to consider what you, my audience, wants... That's why it's good for me to be away now, to just be w/ my sons, so that I can reflect very carefully... God bless you all. Happy 1st Friday of 2014!"

Kris Aquino is slated to return from vacation this January 9 and also set to have a "big announcement" the same day. Could it be about the rumored network transfer? We'll see.

ABS-CBN is the only network partnered by COMELEC to create and offer a mobile app customized to fit voters’ needs. The app recorded a total of 6.7 million page views on Android and iOs in May 2013.

ABS-CBN Corporate Communications bagged another Quill for its 2012 Media Christmas Party where it gathered more than 200 members of the entertainment press and bloggers. The event, which gained positive feedback from the attendees, aimed to give its special guests a chance to experience ABS-CBN’s brand of entertainment first-hand as they actively took part in It’s Showtime’s interactive segment “Sine Mo ‘To,” felt the thrill of playing the “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal,” experienced being the 24K Girls, and took part in a press version of the station ID.

Judy Ann Santos to Transfer Network When Soap Ends? Will it be TV-5 or GMA-7?

Posted on August 7, 2013 | 12:03 PM

Queen of Pinoy Soap Opera Judy Ann Santos is reportedly considering a network switch after the end of her teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala on ABS-CBN.

Judy Ann Santos to Transfer Network?

According to reports, Judy Ann Santos is now weighing options whether to transfer or not. Judy Ann's manager, Alfie Lorenzo said that they will be attending a dinner-meeting with TV-5 boss Manny V. Pangilinan. There are also talks that Juday and Tito Alfie will also meet with GMA-7 executives.

Judy Ann Santos' contract with ABS-CBN expired last July and the queen is now free to grab any offer from rival networks while ABS-CBN, her home network for two decades, is still drafting a new contract for her to consider.

Rumor has it that Judy Ann Santos' camp felt bad when the network decided to move her comeback teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala to a later timeslot to give way to Muling Buksan Ang Puso, when it was doing better in TV ratings. This time, the network allegedly wanted to move the show's timeslot again to accommodate Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's teleserye Got to Believe.

Judy Ann allegedly got offended after executives told her the move and in disappointment, Judy Ann reportedly decided to just end her teleserye the soonest instead of being placed at a later timeslot (fourth in primetime after evening newscast) where there is very limited viewership.

Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala premiered last June 17 and there are reports that it will air its finale on August 23, two months after it first aired on TV.

Many netizens feel with Juday because despite being bestowed the title of 'Teleserye Queen,' her series were always cut short and barely last long, with follow up teleserye happening after about 2 years.

Will Juday finally end her loyalty to ABS-CBN and leave the network? If she decides to do so, where will we see Judy Ann next—TV-5 or GMA-7?

"Big day today! Eto na yun!" JC posted in his official Twitter account before the scheduled contract signing Monday afternoon.

JC de Vera with ABS-CBN President and CEO Charo Santos-Concio

JC de Vera started his showbiz career as a Kapuso way back in 2003 where he became a part of the youth-oriented show Click. Dubbed then as GMA-7 "Drama Prince," JC starred in several shows including Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso, Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig, Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita and Lalola.

It was in 2010 when JC de Vera left GMA Network to become a Kapatid. He  signed a three-year non-exclusive contract with TV-5 where he topbilled TV series such as My Driver Sweet Lover, Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum, and Valiente. He also became a part of the gag show Loko Moko U.

After leaving GMA-7, JC de Vera is rumored to be playing Judy Ann Santos' leading man in the 2010 teleserye Habang May Buhay, but he eventually transferred to TV-5. After his TV-5 contract expired early this year, JC de Vera also did not renew his management contract with manager Annabelle Rama. He just finished his commitment in Cassandra: Warrior Angel before jumping ship to the Kapamilya network.

As the newest Kapamilya, JC will now realize his dream of starring in his very first MMK episode. Talks abound see JC de Vera as one of the potential actors to reprise the role of Captain Barbell when ABS-CBN starts its own production of the hit Mars Ravelo work.

JC de Vera, who is now being managed by Leo Dominguez, said that he would like to play leading man to Kim Chiu, Kaye Abad and Maja Salvador. JC will be part of Dreamscape Entertainment Television unit of Deo Endrinal and will soon appear in a Kapamilya teleserye.

Welcome to ABS-CBN, JC de Vera—our newest Kapamilya.

Ogie Alcasid Transfers to TV-5 | Will Wife Regine Velasquez Follow Suit and Leave GMA Network?

Posted on July 25, 2013 | 10:32 AM

Comedian and singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid is leaving GMA-7, his home for 18 years, to transfer the country's number 3 network TV-5, entertainment website PEP.ph reported on Wednesday.

Ogie Alcasid Transfers to TV-5

According to the report, Ogie Alcasid met with GMA Network executives last week to tell them his decision of switching networks. Ogie said that the conversation went well and that GMA-7 big boss Felipe Gozon appreciated his honesty.

Meanwhile, GMA Network has released its official statement regarding Ogie Alcasid's transfer to TV-5. The statement reads:

"As Ogie Alcasid moves on to explore new grounds, GMA Network, his home for almost two decades, wishes him all the best. We thank him for being a part of the Network's success all these years.

"His achievements as a singer, songwriter, comedian, host and actor make Ogie the icon that he is now. And the Kapuso Network is proud to have been with him throughout this journey."

Even without prior confirmation on Ogie's decision, rumors abound said that his wife Regine Velasquez will follow him in the Kapatid network once her contract with GMA-7 expires. The Asia's songbird, however, denied speculations that she will transfer while defending Ogie from bashers.

"At sino ba kasi ang nagsabi na lilipat ako ha may alam ka ba na hindi ko alam?? nakausap mo ba si MVP o si mr Gozon o si Gabby Lopez kaya?? Nakita nyo ba ako sa tv na nagsabing i'm moving??," Regine answered the basher who keeps on saying that Ogie caused Regine's downfall.

It is not clear yet what projects await Ogie in the Kapatid network but certain talks claimed that he might be one of the hosts in a new TV-5 noontime show which will replace Wowowillie after Willie's show bids goodbye this October.

Willie Revillame Banned on ABS-CBN

Posted on June 9, 2013 | 3:52 PM

Is Wowowillie host Willie Revillame banned on ABS-CBN?

After TV host Willie Revillame decided not to renew his contract with TV-5 (read story here), there are reports that he will be back to ABS-CBN where he used to host the noontime show Wowowee. After the much needed showbiz break, Willie hinted of possible appearance in future shows.

Willie Revillame Banned on ABS-CBN

The news of Willie's Kapamilya return was even intensified by his recent sighting with Gina Lopez, head of ABS-CBN Foundation and sister of Chairman Gabby Lopez. However, in a recent press conference, ABS-CBN executive Linggit Tan revealed that Willie cannot return on ABS-CBN anytime soon.

"Hindi puwede for the moment. Nagsalita na sina Ma’am Charo [Santos-Concio], CVV [Cory V. Vidanes] at si Gabby [Lopez] na hindi, kaya iyon ang sagot ko," said Linggit Tan when asked if Willie will be back on ABS-CBN.

"At saka, mababa ang ratings niya, ’di ba, three percent?" added Miss LT.

Is ABS-CBN trying to teach Willie a lesson after he left the network who gave him a second or even a third chance?

Willie's show on TV-5 Wowowillie will run until October and after that, the host said that he will focus on his businesses. Nevertheless, Willie will return as he hinted. If not on ABS-CBN, and probably not on TV-5, will GMA-7 be keen on accepting Willie Revillame?

Willie Revillame Not Renewing Contract with TV-5; 'Wowowillie' Ends October

Posted on May 23, 2013 | 9:50 AM

Television host Willie Revillame decided not to renew his contract with TV-5 when it expires on October 15.   Willie announced his retirement on his show Wowowillie on Tuesday, May 22.

Willie Revillame [Photo: inquirer.net]

"Alam ninyo, may mga personal na rason na hindi ko na sasabihin sa inyo. Ako muna’y magpapahinga ng ilang buwan, ng isang taon o anuman, e, malalaman ninyo. Tatapusin ko na lang po ang kontrata ko sa TV5. Ang last day of my contract ay October 15. Maybe October 12 will be the last show ng Wowowillie," announced Willie.

"Ako ay sumulat na sa pamunuan ng TV5, ako po ay nagpaalam na - May 17. Actually po, sinagot na nila ako na I think tinatanggap nila yung aking pagpapaalam sa TV5," he added.

In the said letter, dated May 17, 2013 addressed to TV5 chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan and president and chief executive Atty. Ray V. Espinosa, which was published by The Philippine Star on May 22, Willie cited exhaustion for his decision to take a much-needed break from show business at the end of his contract.

Willie, in his letter said that the break will allow him to ponder whether to continue showbiz or just focus on his businesses, like the construction of a new hotel in Tagaytay and the soon-to-be-opening Wil Tower in Quezon City.

Meanwhile, TV-5 said they respect Willie’s decision in an official statement. "We respect the decision of Mr. Willie Revillame to retire upon the expiry of his contract with TV5. We wish him well in his new pursuits."

Willie, however, hinted that he will possibly appear in future shows after his break from showbiz.

"I Wil return," Willie told Ricky Lo when asked about his plans fro next year. He also said on-air "Kapag may nagsara na bintana, may magbubukas na pintuan. Basta mag-e-enjoy pa rin tayo."

Before Willie's announcement, a report published in popular blogsite said that TV-5 will not renew Willie's contract because the host was demanding for a Php 90 million talent fee per month. The report further added that upon learning that the network is not anymore renewing Willie's contract, the host immediately sent a resignation letter to make it appear that it was he who resigned way ahead.

Willie's camp, however, denied the report.

Alex Gonzaga Transfers to ABS-CBN, Returns to Her Kapamilya

Posted on March 30, 2013 | 5:31 PM

Kapatid primetime princess Alex Gonzaga will leave TV-5 to return to ABS-CBN, several reports have confirmed. Alex, who is the sister of multimedia star Toni Gonzaga is originally a Kapamilya before transferring to the country's number 3 network in 2008.

Alex Gonzaga Transfers to ABS-CBN, Returns to Her Kapamilya

Alex (born Catherine Gonzaga) is introduced in the defunct ABS-CBN teen sitcom Let's Go and Gokada Go, where her current screen name came from. She also went on to be a part of the Philippine remake of My Girl starring Kim and Gerald before becoming one of TV-5's prime star on its revamp. While a Kapatid, she was given huge projects such as Babaeng Hampaslupa and P.S. I Love Yove You.

Alex was last seen in the eco-fantaserye Enchanted Garden. According to reports, a Kapatid executive is blocking Alex's next project in the network. Since her contract expired last December 2012 and TV-5 has no offer at the moment, Alex and her manager, Mommy Pinty Gonzaga decided to accept the offer of ABS-CBN.

There were reports that TV-5 big boss Manny Pangilinan, upon learning Alex's jumping to ABS-CBN, asked for a meeting with her camp for possible projects, one of which is a teleserye with Sharon Cuneta. However, it was too late since Alex has already negotiated a deal with ABS-CBN.

Alex Gonzaga is set to sign a contract with ABS-CBN on April 15. Her upcoming projects in the Kapamilya network include a light drama series (rumored to be a musical-serye opposite Jericho Rosales) and a movie with Star Cinema. Alex will also be part of the ABS-CBN Sunday musical variety show, ASAP 18.

Video: Wowowillie Surprise Blackouts on Show's Premiere

Posted on January 26, 2013 | 8:53 PM

TV-5's Wowowillie was welcomed by a series of surprise blackouts during its noontime debut. The Willie Revillame show premiered Saturday, January 26 competing with longest running Eat Bulaga! and ABS-CBN's It's Showtime.

Wowowillie

Wowowillie is the Kapatid Network's first ever daily noontime variety show and it kicked off as grand as it can be—star-studded with well-prepared opening number. The show catered more studio audience as it aired in its new home, the Wowowillie Studio, formerly Delta Theater, that houses the most advanced equipment for live shows.

However, the show was welcomed by a series of blackouts while airing live. Willie, who is celebrating his 52nd birthday on the show can't help but joke around about the blackout as a "very good" birthday gift, wishing that it will not happen again.

Dennis Trillo Hints About Network Transfer, Chooses ABS-CBN over TV-5

Posted on December 16, 2012 | 11:05 PM

Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo hinted a possible network transfer after his contract with GMA-7 expires about a year from now. In an interview with entertainment website PEP.ph, Dennis said that if he will to choose between ABS-CBN or TV-5, he prefers the former.

"After ng contract na yun, siyempre may mga negotiations, e. So, hindi ko pa alam. Marami pang puwedeng mangyari sa isang taon, so tingnan na lang natin."

If ever his manager Popoy Caritativo opted for him to transfer, Dennis said that it will be fine with him but pinpointed the Kapamilya network as a better choice over the Kapatid network.

"Siguro mas pipiliin ko ABS [CBN]. Ano kasi, e, siyempre yung iisipin mo yung mileage mo bilang artista. Maganda yung mga nangyayari sa ABS, di ba? Shows nila, maraming nanonood. So, baka iyon, kung sakali," Dennis Trillo explained.

If Dennis Trillo decided to transfer to ABS-CBN after his contract expires with GMA-7, then it will be a sort of homecoming.

Dennis Trillo started his showbiz career as a Kapamilya. He is part of Star Magic (then Star Circle Batch 10) with Bea Alonzo, Alfred Vargas and Karel Marquez, among others. He became part of the defunct ABS-CBN teen series K2BU opposite Angelene Aguilar. Bea Alonzo is also part of the show.

Artista Academy Kicked Out 4 Students in One Night, Twist Coming Up

Posted on September 18, 2012 | 8:22 AM

Artista Academy sent home 4 students on Monday's (September 17) Kick Out episode. Alberto Bruno, Marvelous Alejo, Nicole Estrada and Stephanie Rowe were expelled from the academy after getting the lowest combined scores from the AATA, the live exams and text votes.

Alberto Bruno, Marvelous Alejo, Nicole Estrada and Stephanie Rowe expelled from Artista Academy (September 17)

After a memorable weekend in Hong Kong last week where they performed for thousands of OFWs and had the time of their lives in Hong Kong Disneyland, last night’s Kick Out episode proved to be most devastating for the Artista Academy students as four of them were instantly expelled in one sweep.

Alberto Bruno, Marvelous Alejo, Nicole Estrada and Stephanie Rowe now joined the ranks of Artista Academy kickouts after they failed to make the grade in the now intensifying competition for the coveted P20 Million total pizes, the biggest pot to be given away by any talent search in the country.

With eight contenders remaining in TV5’s grandest and most intensive artista search, the students will have to work doubly hard if they are really intent on making it to the grand finals and winning the title of Artista Academy’s Best Actor and Best Actress.

This week, in line with their “Fearless” challenge, the remaining eight students will be doing two horror flicks to be directed by highly acclaimed director Topel Lee. The short films will be shown in the Live Exam this Saturday and will comprise a portion of the grades to be given by the Live Exam critics.

Artista Academy Principal Wilma V. Galvante also announced in last night’s episode that the eliminated students will form a group called Tropang Kickout and will be given one production number in upcoming Live Exams. Though expelled from Artista Academy, the kickouts continue their extensive training at the Asian Academy of Television Arts (AATA) and are bound to be professional ‘artistas’ when they graduate.

Artista Academy airs weeknights at 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. on TV5.

Brent Manzano Expelled from Artista Academy

Posted on September 4, 2012 | 6:53 AM

The competition for the P20 Million total prize gets more intense as Artista Academy reduces the number of contenders to 12, following the elimination of Brent Manzano in Monday’s Kick Out episode (September 3).

Brent Manzano eliminated from Artista Academy

Brent is the third student to be kicked out of Artista Academy after garnering the lowest combined scores from his Live Exam performance last Saturday, his grades from the Asian Academy of Television Arts (AATA) where all the artista hopefuls are undergoing extensive training, and the text votes from fans and supporters.

He joins Chris Leonardo and Jon Orlando in the ranks of being Artista Academy kick-outs. Julia Quisumbing, on the other hand, dropped out of the academy last week due to health reasons.

Although he showed an intense acting performance in last Saturday’s Live Exam, Brent still failed to make the grade. He landed in the Live Exam’s bottom 3, along with Marvelous Alejo and Benjo Leoncio.

Last Saturday’s episode also proclaimed Vin Abrenica as the honor student for dancing and singing. He received a grade of 93.5% for dancing and 92% for singing. Sophie Albert is the honor student for acting, with a total grade of 94.5%.

Artista Academy airs weeknights at 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:30 p.m.

Jon Orlando Expelled from Artista Academy, Julia Quisumbing Dropped Out

Posted on August 28, 2012 | 5:44 PM

Jon Orlando, 19-year-old FIlipino Italian from Canada is the second student to be kicked out of Artista Academy, following the elimination of Chris Leonardo last week. Julia Quisumbing, on the other hand, has been dropped out due to excessive absences.

Jon Orlando and Julia Quisumbing eliminated in Artista Academy

Jon Orlando failed to level up in Saturday’s Live Exam, where he landed at the bottom 5 with Brent Manzano, Nicole Estrada, Julia Quisumbing and Marvelous Alejo.
