John Lloyd Cruz Figures in Bike Accident in Tarlac

Actor John Lloyd Cruz figured in a biking accident Thursday afternoon during the shoot for ABS-CBN Summer Station ID in a part of Mt. Pinatubo in Tarlac.

According to reports, John Lloyd is in the middle of the shoot for the said station ID when he fell off his bike face first after trying to avoid a pothole. 

The actor suffered bruises and cuts and was brought to a nearby hospital for immediate medical treatment. He has undergone a CT scan and received four stitches after sustaining a wound in the left nostril where a stone was reportedly lodged. 

John Lloyd is said to be transferred to a hospital in Metro Manila.

John Lloyd's management arm Star Magic confirmed the news in a statement. Star Magic also dismissed early reports that John Lloyd's girlfriend Angelica Panganiban was also hurt in the accident. The talent arm clarified that Angelica was also in the shoot but not in the scene with Lloydie.

"John Lloyd Cruz had a minor bike accident during a shoot and he has undergone immediate medical treatment. He is fine and in good condition. Angelica Panganiban was present at the shoot but was not part of the scene and not involved in the accident. 

We thank everyone for their concern."

Koreen Medina of Philippines Wins Miss Intercontinental 2013 3rd Runner up

Miss Philippines Koreeb Medina was hailed 3rd runner up at the Miss Intercontinental pageant held December 14 at Magdeburg, Germany. Ekaterina Plekhovm of Russia was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2013, its first crown from the said pageant.

Koreen Medina, who was also awarded as the Queen of Asia/Oceania in the said pageant, got her ticket to the pageant by winning Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International. She was also a Star Magic talent and the grand winner of My Girl of the defunct ABS-CBN noontime show Happy Yipee Yehey.

Star Magic Ball 2013: Red Carpet Gowns, Suits, Photos

The 7th Star Magic Ball 2013 happens tonight, September 7 at the Fairmont Hotel in Makati City. The annual ball gathers Star Magic artists together with the famous names in the industry from directors, film and television producers to entrepreneurs and network executives for a night of glamour, laughter and camaraderie and this time to celebrate Star Magic's 21 glorious years.

Wearing their fashionable gowns and suits made by top fashion designers, stars and guests walked the red carpet flaunting the glitz that is 'showbiz.' Of course, the glitz and the glamour will not be completed without the issues that will arise from the annual ball wherein new tandems and couple will be discovered and the hunt for the best- and worst-dressed of the evening.

Claudine Barretto Confirms Comeback Movie with Star Cinema

Actress Clauding Barretto is now gearing up for her comeback movie with Star Cinema after a two-year hiatus. Claudine confirmed in a press interview that she will return with two movie projects line up for her.

"Nag-pe-prepare na ako. Puspusan na ang pagpe-prepare. Actually mga one week palang ako nakakapag-prepare. I'm very excited. I'm very, very excited," Claudine told ABS-CBN News and other members of the press at the birthday party of her daughter, Sabina, held Saturday afternoon at Blue Water Day Spa in Quezon City.

"Hindi ko alam kung ano ang mauuna [sa dalawang pelikula], magmi-meeting palang kami. Mag-mi-mieet palang kami hopefully this week, and doon ko malalaman," she added.

As previously reported, Claudine is set to do a romance-drama movie under the film production outfit of Viva Entertainment which now manages her career. The other project, which is also a dramatic film, will be a co-production with ABS-CBN's film production outfit Star Cinema.

Claudine was a with ABS-CBN for around 17 years and regarded as the queen of Star Magic before she transferred to GMA-7 in 2009. During her days with the Kapuso network, she only had one primetime series titled Iglot. 

Claudine's last movie was Viva and GMA Films' In Your Eyes where she starred with Anne Curtis and Richard Gutierrez. 

Despite being involved in negative issues in the past, Claudine's acting prowess is not to be ignored. Her fans are now excited for her comeback movies while still hoping that she will have her comeback teleserye with ABS-CBN soon.

Kim Chiu Mourning on Mother's Death

Primetime princess Kim Chiu is now on a trying situation with the death of her mother Louella Yap Chiu. Kim's mother died on Sunday, June 24. She was 50 years old.

According to reports, Kim's mother was ill and got confined in one of the hospitals in Cebu. The cause of death of was not disclosed but a source close to the family said that she has died of aneurysm. 

Kim and her family has not yet granted an interview and requested privacy as they mourn the loss of their mother. On her official Twitter account, Kim posted "sana panaginip lang to..."

Kim's management, Star Magic released an official statement regarding the death of Kim's mother.

"Star Magic sympathizes with Kim Chiu on the passing of her mother, Louella Y. Chiu. We request that we give Kim and her family the respect and time to grieve for their loss. Thank you."

Meanwhile, Kim's love team partner Xian Lim has reportedly flew to Cebu to console Kim.

Kapamilya stars did a spoof of famous Star Cinema movies in celebration of Star Magic's 21st anniversary and Star Cinema's 20th year. The video was first seen on ASAP 18 Sunday, May 26.

The original stars of blockbuster movies such as Milan, It Takes a Man and A Woman, Anak, The Mistress, Bata, Bata Paano Ka Ginawa?, Don't Give Up On Us, Paano Na Kaya, One More Chance, Soltera, and One More Try parodied their movies with funny Star Magic talents such as Pokwang, Chokoleit, John 'Sweet' Lapus, Ryan Bang, Alex Gonzaga and Jayson Gainza.

The spoofs were directed by no less than Star Magic's chairman emeritus, Johnny Manahan. Watch the Star Cinema movies parody below:

He says the show’s staff called him up, not to inform him if he passed, but to inform him of their taping schedule. And he even had to memorize his script in ten minutes.

Jerome says he wants to give showbiz a chance and postponed his collegiate studies at the Mapua University. He shares that he likes making people smile and he likes the acknowledgement one gets in the business aside from the fame and the lifestyle. Jerome wants to maintain the ‘good boy’ image he has on “Be Careful with My Heart” but says he eventually wants to take on more versatile roles. He adds that he feels lucky to become a part of Star Magic and hopefully become a serious actor in the years to come.
