Maya and Ser Chief Wedding Makes Philippine TV History

Posted on November 7, 2013 | 10:27 AM

The much-awaited “Fairytale Wedding of the Year” of Maya (Jodi Sta. Maria) and Ser Chief (Richard Yap) is set to make Philippine television history as the longest-airing wedding ceremony in a TV series.

Maya and Ser Chief Wedding Invitation

According to Ginny Ocampo, business unit head of “Be Careful With My Heart,” TV viewers will surely feel that they are part of the historical wedding on November 15 (Friday) because they will continuously shoot the whole ceremony.

“Just like an actual wedding coverage, TV viewers will feel the spirit and solemnity of the occasion because we will shoot continuously, without cuts,” explained Ginny.

Part of the simple yet elegant and classy ‘fairytale wedding of the year’ are Maya’s Nanay Teresita (Sylvia Sanchez) and elder sister Kute (Aiza Seguerra), and Richard’s parents Don Roberto (Noel Trinidad) and Doña Esmeralda (Marissa Delgado). Paring as Best Man and Maid of Honor are Luke (Jerome Ponce) and Nikki (Janella Salvador), the Bride’s Maid will be Richard’s bestfriend Rafi (Maricar Reyes), while the Groom’s Man will be Ryan (Cris Villanueva). Maya’s nephew Cho (JM Ibanez) will walk down the aisle as Coin and Ring Bearer, while Richard’s youngest child Abby (Mutya Orquia) will be the Flower Girl.

Completing the secondary sponsors are Doris (Tart Carlos), Sabel (Vivieka Ravanes), Joma (Micah Muñoz), Emman (Nathan Lopez) and Simon (Paul Jake Castillo). Among the principal sponsors are Maya’s trainer at Time Airways Ms. Belmonte (Pinky Amador) and the Lim family’s ‘mayordoma’ Manang Fe (Gloria Sevilla).

Unlike other TV series that conclude with the wedding of the lead stars, “Be Careful With My Heart” marks a new beginning with Maya and Richard’s marriage. As Jodi and Richard previously revealed, there are still more romantic moments that TV viewers should watch out for after the wedding, including their honeymoon in Japan.

“After the wedding, a new chapter starts in the lives of Richard and Maya as husband and wife,” said Jodi.

Don’t miss Maya and Ser Chief’s “Fairytale Wedding of the Year” on November 15, 11:45am, on ABS-CBN. Also, watch out for “Richard-Maya Fairytale Wedding of the Year Special” that will be aired in “Sunday’s Best” on November 24. Ser Chief Richard Yap Releases Debut Album under Star Records

Posted on September 21, 2013 | 9:04 AM

Be Careful With My Heart lead actor Richard Yap, who is well known by TV viewers as ‘Ser Chief,’ is thrilled over the launch of his first-ever recording album under Star Records.

“It is a dream-come-true because I’ve always wanted to sing since I was a kid,” said the other half of the ‘Ser Chief-Maya’ (Jodi Sta. Maria) love team. “I am thankful to our teleserye because through our official soundtrack, people discovered that I can sing.”

Ser Chief Richard Yap Releases Self-titled Debut Album under Star Records

The actor shared that his self-titled debut album is just like their TV series–a feel-good, easy listening collection of tracks composed of nine revivals that were all chosen by ‘Ser Chief’ himself. The carrier single of the album is “Don’t Know What To Do, Don’t Know What To Say.”

“It covers all genres, from pop to ballad to alternative, appealing not only to music fans in my age group but also to the teens and in-betweens,” said Richard, who stressed that his album is entirely different from “Be Careful With My Heart” album. “This is very special for me because I put a lot of hard work in it so that we could come up with something that’s really worth paying for. I’m hoping that all of my supporters will love it too.”

Richard, who grew up listening to the music of Queen, Barry Manilow, Kenny Rogers, Hall and Oates, Phil Collins, and Mike Francis, feels no pressure getting compared with other talented singers in the country.

“I don’t think there’s a need to compare because we have different musical choices and different target audiences,” he explained.

Featured in Richard’s solo debut album under Star Records are revivals of “Promise Ain’t Enough,” “Think I’m In Love Again,” “Can Find No Reason,” “You Take My Breath Away,” “Chasing Cars,” “High,” “Afterglow,” and the Chinese version of “Oh Babe.” The album also carries the bonus tracks “Please Be Careful With My Heart” and “Salamat.”

Richard’s first album is now available at all record bars nationwide for only P250. Digital tracks can also be downloaded via Amazon.com, Mymusicstore.com.ph and iTunes. For more information visit Star Records’ Facebook fan page at facebook.com/starrecordsphil or follow @starrecordsph on Twitter.

Be Careful With My Heart Movie, Star Cinema's MMFF 2013 Entry

Posted on May 18, 2013 | 3:50 PM

Hit kilig-serye Be Careful With My Heart starring Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap will reportedly have a film version which will join this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2013).

Be Careful With My Heart Movie Version for MMFF 2013

According to a report published Thursday on entertainment news site Philippine Entertainment Portal, Star Cinema's entry to the 39th edition of the annual film festival is a movie version of Be Careful With My Heart.

The hit daytime TV series first aired in July 2012 and since then, the whole nation was hooked with the story of Maya, an aspiring flight attendant who leaves the province for Manila to pursue her dreams and Ser Chief, a widowed businessman who hired Maya as a family maid and helped her realize her dreams.

Due to its immense success, the show has been extended several times and is now close to airing for a year now. According to ABS-CBN chief executive officer Charo Santos-Concio, as long as the public supports the said kilig-serye, it will stay on air.

Be Careful With My Heart, which is directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial is currently the No. 1 daytime series in the Philippines.

If the planned movie version of Be Careful With My Heart for MMFF 2013 will push through, it will be the very first time that a film based on a TV series will join the annual festival. However, it's not the first one to be made into a movie. In 1999, Star Cinema also did the film version of highly successful soap operas Esperanza starring Judy Ann Santos and Mula Sa Puso starring Claudine Barretto and the late Rico Yan.

Do you think Be Careful With My Heart's popularity in television will also translate to the box office success of its planned movie version?

Maya Performs 'Gwiyomi' on Be Careful With My Heart (Video)

Posted on May 13, 2013 | 3:58 PM

Jodi Sta. Maria's character in the hit daytime series Be Careful With My Heart did the 'Gwiyomi' or cutie song as part of Maya's graduation presentation which was aired Monday, May 13.

Maya Performs 'Gwiyomi' on Be Careful With My Heart

Maya, along with her fellow flight attendants, danced to the popular K-Pop hit on the said episode. However, Maya lacked the energy since someone is missing in this very special day—her sister Cristina Rose/Kute (played by Aiza Seguerra).

Joining the flight attendants are their families who are watching them on stage. Unfortunately, Sir Chief was late as he was stuck in the MRT after fetching Kute who just arrived from San Nicolas to attend Maya's graduation.

Do you think Sir Chief will also do the 'Gwiyomi' if he ever was present in time for the said presentation? Or maybe Maya will ask him to join the cutie song bandwagon some other episode?

Here's Maya doing the 'Gwiyomi' on Be Careful With My Heart.
