Kris Aquino, Robin Padilla and Anne Curtis Caught in a Love Triangle in 'Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw'

Three showbiz royalties–Queen of all Media Kris Aquino, Box Office Queen Anne Curtis and Idol of the Masses Robin Padilla–will join forces in ABS-CBN’s highly-anticipated Primetime Bida drama series “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw.” 

In the story of the upcoming Kapamilya teleserye, Kris and Anne will play the roles of sisters Roxanne and Ruth, who will both fall in love with one man, Bogs who will be portrayed by Robin.

Toda Max Stars Thank Supporters, Best 2012 Episodes Air December 29

ABS-CBN’s sitcom “Toda Max” heard its viewers’ clamor and will re-air the funniest episodes of 2012 on the last Saturday of the year (December 29).

“Many things happened this year and we are very thankful; the well appreciated return of the sitcom, the two Best Comedy awards received by the show and the memorable celebration of our first anniversary,” said Vhong Navarro, one of the sitcom’s lead actors.

To show gratitude for these milestones, “Toda Max” airs their most unforgettable episodes that tickled the funny bones of thousands of Filipinos. “We wouldn’t have reached this far without our supporters. May we all have a prosperous and fun new year ahead!” said Angel Locsin.

The sitcom recently won two Best Comedy Show awards from the Catholic Mass Media Awards and PMPC Star Awards for TV while its actors Robin Padilla and Pokwang won the Best Comedy Actor and Best Comedy Actress awards from the PMPC respectively.

On “Toda Max” this Saturday, Lady G (Pokwang), Tol (Robin), Isabel (Angel), Justin (Vhong) and the residents of Beverly Gil’s St. will group together to reminisce memories that made them laugh and cry.

Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw Premieres January 21, Full Trailer Released

ABS-CBN’s highly-anticipated Primetime Bida drama series “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw” starring Kris Aquino, Anne Curtis, and Robin Padilla will premiere on January 21, 2013 (Monday). 

The series, which is directed by Malu Sevilla and Bb. Joyce Bernal, is a compelling tale of two sisters Ruth (Anne) and Roxanne (Kris) who both fell in love with one man, Bogs (Robin). In “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw”  Bogs, a police officer, meets ramp model Ruth, whose self-kidnapping scheme lands her in jail momentarily.

Bogs and Ruth soon develop feelings for each other, until she decides to leave for New York to pursue her dreams. Their time apart has Bogs falling for Ruth's sister, Roxanne, who eventually marries the law enforcer. Meanwhile, Bogs, who seeks to avenge the death of his father, finds the trail leading to Roxanne and Ruth's dad (Tirso Cruz III).

Also featured in “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw” are Ian Veneracion, Smokey Manaloto, Emilio Garcia, Lito Pimentel, Xyriel Manabat, and Daniel Padilla who will portray the role of the young Robin.

Pokwang, Torn Between Richard Gomez and Robin Padilla in Toda Max (Dec 1)

Pokwang is having the time of her life as she is constantly being paired with handsome actors. In the recently released movie “24/7 In Love”, she is paired up with Sam Milby and this time in “Toda Max”, she’ll have two gentlemen wooing her, Richard Gomez and Robin Padilla.

“I’m so beautiful,” the veteran comedian said laughing. “Just look at my on-screen partners who look even more handsome because they’re paired up with me,” she joked. When asked if she’s searching for the same traits in a guy, she said that the most important aspect she wants in a man is their sincerity. “I want a man who will love me for who I am,” she said.

Meanwhile, for the last episode of the sitcom’s month-long anniversary celebration, Richard Gomez, former mainstay in the Kapamilya comedy show “Palibhasa Lalake” will visit Beverly Gil’s St. to serve as Lady G’s (Pokwang) ‘Prince Charming’ when the latter gets into trouble. Because of his bravery, Lady G will help Ricky (Goma) find a job. On the other hand, Tol (Robin) will feel suspicious of Ricky’s true intentions. To protect Lady G, Tol will begin wooing Lady G as well. Ricky and Tol find themselves competing for the rich woman’s attention.

Toda Max Bags 3 Awards from the PMPC Star Awards

Toda Max won big in the PMPC Star Awards for Television recently after it received three awards out of its five nominations. The sitcom took home the Best Comedy/Gag Show Award, Best Comedy Actor Award for Robin Padilla and Best Comedy Actress Award for Pokwang.

Robin and Pokwang’s co-nominees Vhong Navarro and Angel Locsin were delighted with the win of their co-stars. “Even though I didn’t win, just the thought of getting nominated for the Best Comedy Actress category is overwhelming for a first timer in comedy,” said Angel.

This is Robin’s first award in the comedy department while comedy veteran Pokwang has already received numerous awards in the same category.

“Even though I have received the same kind of award numerous times, I still feel surprised and overwhelmed at the support given to me. Thank you so much PMPC!” said Pokwang.

Robin also thanked PMPC and the sitcom’s loyal viewers. “It feels so great knowing that we already received two prestigious awards only after a year of airing,” he said. A big thank you to our viewers and to PMPC,” he said.

The sitcom received the same award from the Catholic Mass Media Awards recently.

Meanwhile, to continue the month-long anniversary of the sitcom, Direk Bobot Mortiz and Tirso Cruz III will visit Beverly Gil’s St. as Tatay Mac’s (Al Tantay) friends and band mates as well as Isabel’s (Angel) godfathers. The two will be excited to see Tatay Mac upon bumping into Isabel but the latter will inform her godfathers that her father still has a grudge towards them. Tol (Robin), Justin (Vhong), Isabel and Lady G (Pokwang) will try their best to reunite the three.

Ai Ai Delas Alas and Cristine Reyes Fight Over Binoe in Toda Max (November 17)

Ai Ai Delas Alas takes the spotlight this week as the veteran comedian guest on “Toda Max” this Saturday (November 17) to continue the sitcom’s month-long anniversary celebration.

This will mark the second episode under the theme “Tribute to ABS-CBN Comedy Shows” wherein veteran guests join in the fun at Beverly Gil’s. This Saturday, Ai Ai will play the role of a woman who claims that she is Tol’s (Robin Padilla) first wife.

“It has been a while since I last tried my hand in sitcom. I really appreciate the warm welcome of the Toda Max family and enjoyed my guesting so much,” said Ai Ai.

Meanwhile, after the recent win of “Toda Max” as the Best Comedy Show in the Catholic Mass Media Awards the show is nominated again as Best Comedy/Gag Show for the PMPC Star Awards for TV. Other Kapamilya comedy shows like “Banana Split” and “Goin’ Bulilit” also vie for the award. Also nominated are “Toda Max” stars Robin Padilla and Vhong Navarro for the Best Comedy Actor award and Angel Locsin and Pokwang for the Best Comedy Actress award. Karen Reyes and Myrtle Sarrosa also received nominations for the Best New Female TV Personality for their appearance on the show.

“Thank you PMPC Star Awards for seeing all the efforts we put on Toda Max. I didn’t expect to be nominated as Best Comedy Actress especially since Ms. Pokwang, a veteran comedian, is also included in the show. This is really a great honor for me,” said Locsin.

Every Saturday beginning November 10 to December 1, a roster of time-tested comedians including Epi and Vandolph Quizon, Ai Ai Delas Alas and Richard Gomez will visit “Toda Max”  for the month-long anniversary celebration of the sitcom.

Their first anniversary celebration with the theme “Tribute to ABS-CBN Comedy Shows” gives a hats-off to the unforgettable comedy shows of ABS-CBN. “If it weren’t for the inspiration given to us by these shows, I believe Toda Max won’t be this successful,” said Vhong Navarro who plays as the cook Justin Bibbo in the sitcom.

“We also want to thank the supporters of Toda Max. Without them, we wouldn’t have made the show last this long and we wouldn’t have won in the CMMA,” added Vhong.

Robin Padilla who is one of the lead stars said that they promise to continually impart moral values and laughter in every episode.

Meanwhile, to begin the month-long celebration of “Toda Max”, Epi and Vandolph Quizon will take the center stage this Saturday (November 10). The Quizon brothers will play as Tim and Tom, the cooks that Tol (Robin Padilla) hired for the catering business he shares with his cousin Justin.

A conflict between the cousins will arise though as Justin has already hired Tatay Mac (Al Tantay), the father of his girlfriend Isabel (Angel Locsin) as cook. Robin Padilla's Movie 'Kuratong Baleleng' with Daniel Padilla Postponed

The film “Kuratong Baleleng” starring Robin Padilla, his brother Rommel and nephew Daniel is supposed to have its theatrical release on November 30 but was postponed due to issues involving its title.

“People misinterpret the title as the gang itself. Kuratong Baleleng in Mindanao is a kind of instrument called darling bells,” explained Robin Padilla.

Despite this, Binoe is open to renaming the title. “If it were up to me, I don’t want to change it but it’s up to Rommel. Whatever his decision is, I will support it,” he said.

As Binoe partners with his family for his upcoming movie, “Bad Boy” will pair up with his cousin Justin (Vhong Navarro) in “Toda Max” for a business venture. During the grand launch of their restaurant, Lady G (Pokwang) will invite stars to grace the event but the agency she hired will fail to get the big stars and will bring gay impersonators instead.

Vhong Navarro vs Carmina Villaroel in a Cooking Showdown in Toda Max this October 27

Vhong Navarro and Carmina Villaroel’s kitchen tricks will be tested on “Toda Max” this Saturday (October 27) as the two battle it out in a cooking showdown.

“I am prepared for this cooking competition because of the lessons I learned from my culinary school. This showdown must not be missed,” said Carmina, this week’s “Toda Max” guest.

Carmina will play the role of Chef Mina, a four-time winner in the competition “That’s My Chef” who yearns to win one more time to be hailed as a Master Chef Hall of famer. Meanwhile, Tol (Binoe) and Justin (Vhong) will find out that Lady G (Pokwang) has forced evicted them from their home and that Tatay Mac (Al Tantay) and Isabel (Angel Locsin) are the new homeowners. To retrieve their home, Lady G requires them to give a down payment of P100,000.

Thinking that all hope’s gone, Justin will be invited by Chef Mina to compete with her in a cooking showdown to finally get her much-awaited win. If Justin beats her, she’ll give him a P100,000 cash prize.

Robin Padilla Almost Succumbed to Smuggling in Toda Max

Robin Padilla almost succumbed to smuggling due to financial problems in the sitcom “Toda Max” this Saturday (October 13).

But honesty and integrity prevailed in Binoe’s character, Tol. “Even though we’re facing financial crises, we shouldn’t resort to doing immoral acts. Honesty is still the best policy,” said Binoe.

In the sitcom, Tol was offered a promotion as a purchasing officer at the automobile repair shop where he works if he will agree to smuggle fake automobile parts. Tol informed his boss that he will think about it.

Meanwhile, Lady G (Pokwang) will force Tol’s cousin Justin (Vhong Navarro) to pay up all his debts and to be able to do so, Justin will accept boarders. Tol will disagree at first but because of their financial need, he will be left with no choice. This decision however, will spark conflict between them and their girlfriends Isabel (Angel Locsin) and Joy (Cristine Reyes).

Toda Max is CMMA's Best Comedy Program, Gina Pareño and Kiray Join the Fun

ABS-CBN’s sitcom “Toda Max” starring Robin Padilla, Vhong Navarro, Pokwang and Angel Locsin won the Best Comedy Program award in the 34th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) recently and according to Vhong, it is an honor to receive such award.

“To receive a nomination is already a great honor so imagine our surprise when Toda Max won. Our sitcom isn’t even a year old yet,” said Vhong.

He also said that since jurors behind the CMMA are academicians, civic and religious leaders and members of the clergy, they’re very sensitive in choosing the winners. “I think what contributed to our win is the fact that we don’t only make people laugh, we also make sure that they learn something from the show.”

Robin, who portrays Tol in the sitcom said, “Toda Max imparts moral values to the viewers and I think that’s one of the reasons why we won this award.”

The cast promises to continue making people laugh through their moral lesson-infused episodes.

Meanwhile on “Toda Max” this Saturday, Isabel (Angel Locsin) finally receives a job offer and hopes that her neighbors and family members will behave properly during the background inspection by her prospective clients. PBB Teens Karen Reyes, Ryan Boyce and Kit Thompson on Toda Max this August 25

Robin Padilla,  Vhong Navarro and Angel Locsin will join forces in giving PBB's Karen Reyes an advice about teenage pregnancy on “TODA Max” this August 25. 

Karen of PBB Teen Edition 4 observed that many of her friends who are of the same age faced pregnancy at a very young age. According to the teen housemate, she is quite confused if this is a ‘new trend’ or teens of today are just more liberated.

“I don’t know why some of us are imprudent. I’m young and I have a lot of dreams; I want to accomplish many things. I can’t imagine having a baby at my age,” Karen shared.

“We must not be impulsive in serious things like having a family; we must be prepared for it.” according to Angel.

This Saturday, Tol’s (Binoe) niece, Karen, will pay him a visit with her pregnant dog. She will seek advice from Tol, Justin (Vhong) and Isabel (Angel) about the dog’s pregnancy and Lady G (Pokwang) and Tatay Mac (Al Tantay) will overhear it. Lady G will think that Karen is pregnant, while Tatay Mac will think that it’s his daughter, Isabel.

Angel Locsin, Robin Padilla and Pokwang Help Flood Victims

No gust of wind or rainfall is strong and heavy enough for our Kapamilya stars. They went out of their way to help the victims of the calamity that struck the nation last week. Some of these stars were “TODA Max” lead-stars Robin Padilla, Angel Locsin and Pokwang.

While ‘Habagat’ hammered the country, Angel Locsin, with boyfriend Phil Younghusband, rushed to the supermarket to buy goods for the victims. According to the young actress, “I hope that people who have the ability to help will go out and show their care for others,” Angel said.

Robin Padilla didn’t care about the heavy rains. With the help of his wife Mariel Rodriguez, Robin cooked a huge amount of food that was shared to all his neighbors at West Avenue, Quezon City. He even posted a call for help through a micro-blogging site saying “Let us act Kabayani (depicting the words “kababayan” or countrymen, and “bayani” or hero), the rain will last until Friday”. Pokwang extended a helping hand by giving food and clothing to “Sagip Kapamilya”.

Meanwhile, Isabel (Angel Locsin) and Tol (Robin Padilla) will help their families and neighbors in the hit comedy series “TODA Max”. In the midst of the fight between his father Tatay Mac (Al Tantay) and boyfriend Justin (Vhong Navarro), Isabel will try her best to help the two find peace. Vhong Navarro feels very happy with the way things are going for him and his girlfriend of four years. Despite their steady relationship though, he said that marriage is not part of their plans yet.

“We want to really prepare for it so we both decided to give it more time,” said Vhong who refused to disclose the identity of his non-showbiz girlfriend to maintain her quiet and simple life. “I’m not going to introduce her because she likes it this way,” added Vhong.

Contrary to Vhong’s quiet life, in “TODA Max” this Saturday (August 4), Justin (Vhong) will face pressing matters when he decides to hide Diane (Valerie Concepcion) on the roof of his house out of fear that Lady G might find out that Diane is already Tol’s (Robin Padilla) girlfriend. Tatay Mac will use this to try to destroy Justin’s relationship with Isabel (Angel Locsin).

Daniel Padilla Tries Action in Movie 'Kuratong Baleleng'

Daniel Padilla is set to appear in an action film with a working title Kuratong Baleleng together with his uncle Robin Padilla and father Rommel Padilla. 

In the said action film, Daniel will be playing the role of the young Ongkoy Parojinog, the character of his uncle Robin. Daniel, whose nuances are reminiscent of Binoe was perfect for the role.

This is not the first time that Daniel will be playing a young Robin Padilla. In the upcoming teleserye Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw which will star Robin, Kris Aquino and Anne Curtis, Daniel will also play the young version of his uncle.

Daniel was very happy to be part of Kuratong Baleleng not only because it was a fulfillment of his long dream of doing action films. He was also excited because he will be working together with his elder brothers in the movie.

"Ang dream ko talaga magkaroon kami ng movie na puro Padilla at ito natutupad na. Sobrang masaya kasi kasama ko ang mga kuya ko. Enjoy lang kami. Basta kami ginagawa lang namin 'yung trabaho namin at pamilya kami, kaya masaya," told Daniel to ABS-CBN News.

Aside from this action flick, Daniel will also star in MMFF entry Sisteraka with his Princess and I leading lady Kathryn Bernardo. The said movie will be topbilled by Kris Aquino and Vice Ganda.

Pokwang Returns in Toda Max After 3 Months of Absence From Show

After three months of hiatus, Pokwang returns in “TODA Max” where she portrays Lady G, a filthy rich woman who is head over heels in love with Tol (Binoe). The veteran comedian said that she can never leave comedy.

“That’s not possible. Comedy is my life,” the actress said. Her character, Lady G took a break from the sitcom because Pokwang needed to give her full attention in the primetime teleserye, “Aryana”.

“The pilot taping was really hectic, but now it’s manageable,” she said. “Lady G is happy to be back in “TODA Max” because as usual, she’ll have a fun time flirting with Binoe again,” she added, laughing.

Meanwhile in “TODA Max”, Lady G (Pokwang) will return to Beverly Gil’s St. from America with her boyfriend Gabriel (Rommel Padilla). Everyone living in that block, including Isabel (Angel Locsin) and Justin (Vhong Navarro), will panic due to the fear of being kicked out of their homes because of their debts to Lady G. However, they will ask Tol (Binoe) to talk to Lady G because they know of her feelings for Tol.

Robin Padilla Faces April Boy Regino in a Showdown in 'Toda Max' this July 21

Robin Padilla has proven that he can also be good in singing via his 2002 movie “Videoke King” and more than just a hot-pack action star. But this time, his singing prowess will again be tested as he faces April Boy Regino in a song-and-dance showdown on “TODA Max”.

Different from his robust and redoubtable image in ‘Beverly Gils’, Tol (Robin) will show his artistic side as he and his son Ron-ron (Izzy Canillo) join the school’s ‘Father and Son program’.

But Boogie (April Boy Regino) and his son (Bugoy Carino) will do whatever it takes to defeat their arch-nemesis in this competition – Tol and Ron-ron. With this, Ron-ron will do everything to outrank his competitors but he will accidentally find out that his father really didn’t want to join the competition.

Will the father and son tandem of Tol and Ron-ron push through with the competition? Will they ever come to terms with their tightest competitors Boogie and Bugoy? Don’t miss this riotous episode of “TODA Max” this Saturday (July 21, 2012) after X Factor Philippines, only here on ABS-CBN!

Dolphy to Vhong Navarro: "The show must go on"

Despite the sadness that spurred after the passing of Vhong Navarro’s idol and mentor, Dolphy, the young comedian still tries to smile and make others smile too.

Vhong continues to spread laughter believing in the old saying, “the show must go on.” According to him, this is one of the lessons Dolphy taught him.

“He told me that if we have problems or trials, let’s not think about it too much, instead, we should laugh,” said Vhong.

The “It’s Showtime” host is also vocal in expressing that Pidol is his inspiration and his biggest influence in his showbiz career. “Since I was a child, I really wanted to bring joy and happiness to other people just like what he did.”

And even though the clouds are dark and heavy for him, Vhong will bring laughter in “TODA Max” this Saturday with co-stars Robin Padilla and Angel Locsin, and with guest Dennis Padilla and Angel Sy. The whole gang of “TODA Max” will offer laughter not only for their viewers but for the ‘King of Comedy’ as well.
