The Love Story of Kang Chi (Gu Family Book) Premieres August 19 on ABS-CBN (Full Trailer)

ABS-CBN will bring another well-loved Korean drama The Love Story of Kang Chi (aka Gu Family Book; Kang Chi, The Beginning) starring Asian superstars Lee Seung-gi (My Girlfriend is a Gumiho) and Bae Suzy (Dream High).

The Love Story of Kang Chi is an action historical drama about a half man-half monster who is searching for a centuries-old book that according to gumiho legend, contains the secret to becoming human. In the said epic melodrama, Lee Seung-gi plays Kang-chi, a half-man, half-gumiho who longs to become fully human. He will eventually fall in love with Yeo-wool (Suzy), a martial arts instructor.

2NE1 'Falling in Love' MV and Lyrics (English and Romanized)

Popular K-Pop foursome 2NE1 has released the music video for their new single Falling in Love. The Korean girl group returned with this reggae-influenced track after their 2012 hit I Love You.

Falling in Love is the first single for their upcoming new record. According to their management YG Entertainment, 2NE1 will be releasing a new single every month from July to October, when their new EP (or full-length album) will be out.

That Winter, The Wind Blows Premieres July 8 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida (Full Trailer)

ABS-CBN brings the most romantic Korean drama of 2013, That Winter The Wind Blows starring Asian superstars Jo In-sung (Memories of Bali) and Song Hye-kyo (Endless Love).

That Winter, The Wind Blows is about a gambler and con man (In-sung) who pretends to be the long-lost brother of a blind heiress (Hye-gyo). Despite being broken with past happenings in their lives, the two come to find the true meaning of love after meeting each other.

Based on a 2002 Japanese drama and remade in a 2006 Korean film, That Winter, The Wind Blows is one romantic melodrama that will surely capture everyone's heart. Also starring Kim Bum (Boys Over Flowers), this new Asianovela will premiere on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida starting Monday (July 8) after Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.

Love Rain and Absolute Boyfriend Premiere this June 24 on ABS-CBN | Double Asianovela Treat!

ABS-CBN doubles the romance and doubles the sought-after Korean stars to watch every weekday as the country’s first and true home of Asianovelas premieres the romantic drama “Love Rain” and romantic comedy “Absolute Boyfriend” beginning Monday (June 24).

Asia’s drama prince Jang Geun Suk and one of Korea’s most influential entertainers, Yoona of phenomenal Kpop girl group Girls Generation, team up and play lovers in two different times in “Love Rain,” which airs at 10 AM.

Ian Seo (Geung Suk) and Judy Kim (Yoona) went to college together back in the 1970s and then fell in love. Unfortunately, their love wasn’t meant to be and they needed to part ways.

But love found its way back to them through their children as Ian’s son Jun Seo (Geung Suk) meets and falls in love with Judy’s daughter, Hannah Kim. Will Ian and Judy approve of their son’s and daughter’s romance? Can Jun and Hannah have their happily-ever-after ending unlike their parents?

Meanwhile, Korean sweetheart Koo Hye-Sun or more popularly known as Jan Di of “Boys Over Flowers,” and Taiwanese hearrthrob Jiro Wang of “Hana Kimi” return to Philippine television via the romantic comedy about a lonely single girl who falls in love with a hot, hunky robot in “Absolute Boyfriend,” which airs at 5PM.

Alice (Hye-Sun) never had a boyfriend and has yet to fall in love.  One day she returns a lost cellphone to a strange salesman and she good-naturedly tells him to give her a boyfriend as a reward.

True enough, the salesman gives her a perfect love in the form of a customizable robot named Henry. Unfortunately, Alice misses one tiny detail—to return the robot after the 48-hour trial period.

Now, Alice is left with no choice but to work hard to pay for Henry. But as she spends more time with the robot, she finds herself slowly falling in love with it. Can she stop herself from falling for Henry? Will a real man come her way and save her from feeling for a robot?

A Promise of A Thousand Days Airs May 27 on ABS-CBN

ABS-CBN airs another tear-jerking love story between a woman who is slowly losing her memory and a pure-hearted man who is brave enough to stand up for her beginning this Monday (May 27) as Korean drama “A Promise of a Thousand Days” premieres in Kapamilya Gold.

Topbilled by Korea’s “Queen of Tears,” Soo Ae, and one of the most versatile Korean leading men today, Kim Rae Won, “A Promise of a Thousand Days” was written by famed drama writer Kim Soo-Hyun. Both Soo Ae and Rae Won also received Top Excellence and Top 10 Star Awards for their portrayals in the said melodrama in the 2011 SBS Drama Awards.

Nico Park (Rae Won)is bound to marry a rich woman just to please his parents. But Nico’s heart truly belongs to his childhood sweetheart, Aaliyah (Soo Ae), who agreed to secretly be with him until his wedding day.

Missing You Pilot Episode Wins TV Ratings, Trends on Twitter

ABS-CBN’s newest primetime Korean drama “Missing You” debuted strongly on its premiere telecast last Monday (Apr 22) with a national TV rating of 14.4%  beating GMA 7’s “The Greatest Love” with 9.4%, based on data from Kantar Media. 

The Koreanovela, topbilled by two of Asia’s most popular artists Park Yoo-Chun and Yoon Eun-Hye, successfully sustained the high rating delivered by the recently concluded soap “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw” in its late primetime slot. It was also among the top trending topics in the country in popular micro-blogging site Twitter. 

“Missing You” is compelling story about a man longing to be reunited with his one true love and his undying faith that one day, she will return to him. Julius Han (Yoochun) and Joy Lee (Eun-Hye) are young lovers separated by a tragedy and will meet 14 years later, still haunted by the ghosts of the past.  Julius would become a homicide detective while Joy, returns to Korea as an accomplished fashion designer named Zoe. 

As the two cross paths once more, feelings in the past will be awakened. Julius can feel it in his heart that Zoe is the woman he loved way back, but Joy intentionally keeps the truth from him to seek revenge.

Viral Video: Gwiyomi - Top 10 Cute Boys Compilation

The Gwiyomi song or Kwiyomi (Cutie song) has already gone viral across Asia. "Gwiyomi" or "Kiyomi" is a Korean slang used to refer to a cute person. The single is released by South Korean singer Hari on February 18, 2013.

Unlike the phenomenal hit Gangnam Style, the Gwiyomi song does not have an official video. The gesture, however, is inspired by 'Gwiyomi Player' popularized by Jung Ilhoon of a Korean boy group BtoB. Using cute expressions and hand gestures, the internet sensation spawned several interpretations across Asian countries like Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, and China.

'Missing You' Premieres April 22 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida

ABS-CBN will finally air one of the most anticipated Korean drama Missing You (aka I Miss You) starring Park Yoo-chun (Rooftop Prince, Sungkyunkwan Scandal) and Yoon Eun-hye (Princess Hours, Coffee Prince).

Missing You is the story of high school sweethearts Julius Han and Joy Lee who were separated in a horrifying tragedy that continues to weigh down on them as adults. Now a guilt-ridden detective, Julius has been desperately searching for Joy for years, but when he crosses paths with her again, she has already become someone else with her new identity as Zoe.

Missing You ran from November 2012 to January 2013 in Korea's MBC and is slated for airing in the Philippines via ABS-CBN on April 22 replacing Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw.

Viral Video: PSY 'Gentleman' Music Video; Follow Up to 'Gangnam Style'

Korean superstar PSY has released the music video for his new single, Gentleman. The song is his follow up to the global hit Gangnam Style which broke YouTube records.

The Gentleman music video features familiar faces from the Gangnam Style video. However, PSY's girl in the video is now in the person of Ga In (from the K-Pop girl group Brown Eyed Girls).

If Gangnam Style has that signature horse dance steps, Gentleman boasts of a potential dance craze which includes hip shaking, a reminiscent of Brown Eyed Girls Abracadabra way back in 2009.

'To The Beautiful You' Airs this Summer on ABS-CBN

The Korean version of the hit Hana Kimi has finally arrived in the Philippines. Titled To the Beautiful You, this much-awaited Koreanovela airs this summer on ABS-CBN.

Based on the Japanese shōjo manga series, Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (For You in Full Blossom), written by Hisaya Nakajo, To the Beautiful You is the fourth television adaptation of the manga following the Taiwanese (starring Wu Chun and Ella Chen) and Japanese versions in 2006 and 2007, respectively and another Japanese remake Hanazakari no Kimitachi e in 2011.

To the Beautiful You stars Minho of SHINee, Sulli of f(x) and Lee Hyun-woo (Equator Man). The series centers on JC (Sulli), a US-based Korean girl who disguises herself as a boy just to see her idol, high jump hero, Paul John. Paul John met an accident that could potentially end his career and JC, inspired by her idol, went to the same school as Paul John to encourage him to jump again and continue his career as a high jumper.

2PM's Nichkhun is Newest Bench Endorser

After getting K-Pop superstars Lee Min Ho and Siwon and Donghae (SiHae) of Super Junior, global brand Bench introduces their newest Benchsetter, Nichkhun of the K-Pop group 2PM.

Born to Thai-Chinese parents, Nichkhun was born in the United States. He spent his childhood in Thailand and studied in New Zealand for a year and a half before going back in his California hometown to finish his secondary education.

Although not Korean, Nichkhun became a part of the group 2PM after being discovered in a K-Pop festival in Hollywood. He had undergone training before debuting in 2008. Now, the 24-year-old heartthrob is one of the most popular members of the group.

The announcement of Nichkhun as the newest Benchsetter is very timely as his boy band 2PM will be coming to Manila this March 2 for a one night only concert as part of their 2PM "What Time Is It?" Asia tour. The six-member group, composed of Junsu, Taecyeon, Junho, Chansung, Wooyoung and Nichkhun will be the first JYP Artists to invade Manila concert scene (click here for tickets and other details).

'Ohlala Couple' Premieres February 11 on ABS-CBN UmaGanda

Go “oh la la” with the laughter and romance to be served on weekday mornings by Queen of Asianovelas, Kim Jung Eun, as she returns to Philippine television via ABS-CBN’s newest Koreanovela offering, “Ohlala Couple” beginning Monday (Feb 11).

After her hit series “Lovers in Paris,” “Lovers,” “Princess Lulu,” and “I am Legend,” which all aired on ABS-CBN, Jung Eun is back as she plays a housewife possessed by her husband’s soul.

Vanessa is a dedicated wife to her husband Jonathan. For 12 years, she has fulfilled her duties well as a wife and as mom to their son. But despite all these efforts, her marriage still made it to the brink after Vanessa caught her hotelier husband cheating on her.

The two agreed to part ways but on the day their divorce was approved, an accident happened. When they woke up the next day, they realized that their souls have swapped and they have no idea how it happened.

The ex-couple must find the key to return to their original bodies but at the same time, they must also do everything to keep their in-laws, son, and friends from knowing their current situation.

2PM Live in Manila for 'What Time Is It?' Asia Tour this March 2

K-Pop group 2PM will performing live in Manila this March for the "What Time Is It?" Asian tour. The six-member group, composed of Junsu, Taecyeon, Junho, Chansung, Nichkhun, and Wooyoung, will be the first JYP Artists to invade Manila concert scene.

After their successful concert series last year in Shanghai, China, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Macau, the Asian boy band sensation 2PM will be bringing their energetic performances in Manila and other parts of Asia this 2013.

Presented by MLive, Hoopla and Big Daddy, the 2PM "What time is it?" one-night-only Manila concert will happen live on March 2, 2013 at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena. 

Tickets for the 2PM Live tour in Manila is now on sale at smtickets.com with the following prices: P11,500 (VIP 1 & 2), P9,000 (VIP 3), P7,000 (Lower Box A), P6,000 (Lower Box B), P3,300 (Upper Box), and P1,000 (General Admission). Lee Min Ho and Girls' Generation Cover Sparkling Magazine Winter 2013 Issue

Korean superstar Lee Min Ho and famous K-Pop girl group Girls' Generation (SNSD) are on the two special covers of Sparkling Magazine Winter 2013 issue. Sparkling is the first and only Philippine magazine dedicated to all things K-Pop.

In the cover, Lee Min Ho was dubbed by the magazine as "Prince Charming." The winter issue also tackles the crazy world of Korean plastic surgery plus stories on K-Pop groups 4Minute, Cross Gene, Epik High, Infinite, SHINee, TVXQ and UKISS.

Meanwhile, the SNSD cover features a peek inside the life of a K-Pop trainee, behind the scenes at an SM Town fan meet and the living dolls of Girls' Generation (with a special poster inside). 

SNSD will be performing in Manila this coming January 19 for the Dream KPop Fantasy Concert at the SM Mall of Asia Open Grounds. Other artists that will be performing live are Exo-M, Exo-K, Infinite, U-kiss, Tahiti and Tasty.
