Half-Pinoy Babies Invade Bet On Your Baby this March 1

Posted on February 27, 2014 | 7:21 PM

Russian YouTube sensation Anne Rabstun-Baylosis never guessed that her simple goal of playing and having fun on the country’s cutest game show, “Bet On Your Baby,” along with her Filipino husband Erick and baby Mishka would turn into their becoming the progam’s sixth millionaires last Saturday (February 22).

On their second attempt at “Basagin ang Baboy” in the jackpot round, the family already revealed the P1 million-worth cash prize.

Before becoming winners on “Bet On Your Baby,” Anna Rabstun, who is of pure Russian descent, gained fame for her renditions of OPM songs. Her love for the Filipino culture also made a pleasant surprise out of her falling in love with a Pinoy, ending up with her husband Erick Baylosis in turn.

The Baylosis family played on the show along with the families of commercial model January Isaac and radio DJ Delamar Arias.

This Saturday (March 1), three more half-pinoy babies will be joining “Bet On Your Baby,” namely half British Kiara Collins, and Fil-Ams Matthew McMahon and Sing Paschal.

Will one of these families be able to take home the P1 million jackpot prize? Or will this finally be the week to name the first winners of a P2 million-worth fully furnished house and lot from Camella Homes?

Bet on Your Baby Hosted by Judy Ann Santos Premieres this October on ABS-CBN

Posted on September 26, 2013 | 7:05 PM

In a family treat with a message that is very much close to her heart, acclaimed television personality and hands-on mother Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo stands proud to share both education and enjoyment as host of the Philippines’ newest game show “Bet On Your Baby”.

Bet on Your Baby Hosted by Judy Ann Santos Premieres this October on ABS-CBN

Seeing it fit for how she is and who she is, Judy Ann has been especially excited venturing into this new project, which is designed for families with children aged two to three and a half years old. Through a series of games, it aims to prove the importance of having a strong bond between parents and their kids.

“When the show was presented to me, and when I got the whole feel of ‘Bet On Your Baby’, I was so entertained by seeing how they kids were really just playing,” said Judy Ann, who found a great sense of enjoyment from her first taping sessions. Aside from that, the show’s games are designed in ways that allow for the children to learn while playing, making her even more eager to take on being the show’s host.

Being an advocate of creating strong connections with her children, she finds a certain thrill in discovering what they’re capable of on a daily basis, which she also sees in what her guests bring to the floor. According to Judy Ann, “There’s a point of conversation with you and the parents that join the show. We can relate to each other.”

Judy Ann also immediately took a liking to the kids that she has met through the show so far. “It’s easy to love the program because you’re dealing with babies, and you can’t go wrong with that,” she said.

This connection that she formed with the families that she has met on the show so far is one that she hopes will branch out to inspire other Filipino families, especially with the show presenting techniques that parents and children can take into their own homes.

“I’m just hopeful that we can inspire people to enjoy having their kids around. ‘Bet On Your Baby’ is here to help parents enjoy their kids more. Besides, being a parent, I learned that when it comes to your children, you don’t want to miss any moment. It’s important to be beside them in whatever they go through. I think when you come to that point, it’s true that you become selfless. It’s true that you smile without reason. All of a sudden, there’s so much more value in your being alive.”

Viewers are about to witness another tension-filled and exciting episode with the feisty and fearless Korina intimidating the Banker with her side comments and the Banker giving her a hard time with his offers.

“Oh my God! Ang masasabi ko lang, it’s historic! It’s historic! I think it’s the first in the history of ‘Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal,’ so kailangan talaga panoorin nila!” Korina quipped in an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com after the taping.

If ever Korina wins the jackpot, she will be the 5th millionaire this season.

Just like regular studio players whose lives were changed by “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal,” host Luis Manzano said hosting the show was also a life-changing deal as it truly defined his hosting career.

“It was my first game show to host solo, so it was truly a memorable experience for me. The fact that they trusted me with a big show was a big deal for a host like me. I can say after more than a year on air, I have learned so much(,) from the contestants, staff, and everyone else,” shared Luis.

“Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” is considered to be one of the most successful game show adaptations on Philippine television especially after it aired four seasons since 2006, with the recent and 4th installment hosted by Luis, airing for more than a year and a half.

“We are very happy that for the first time, the show aired for more than a year.  I had very big shoes to fill and I was nervous doing the project, but the fact that we aired longer than expected means we did something right,” said Luis.

When asked what he will miss about the show, Luis said “I will definitely miss the energy, the tension, the banker’s voice, and the total cluelessness of the amount when the briefcases are being opened plus everyone who was part of the show.”

Don’t miss the final episode of “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” this Saturday (Sep 28) after “TV Patrol Weekend” on ABS-CBN. Tweet your thoughts and reactions via Twitter using the hashtag #KapamilyaDOND.

'Minute to Win It' Try-outs this January 7 and 8 at ABS-CBN Center Road

Posted on January 3, 2013 | 4:04 PM

Do you think you can knock over a pyramid of beverage cans using rubber bands or pull all tissues out of a box one by one, using only one hand – all under 60 seconds? Complete tasks like these using everyday household items in less than one minute and you can win P1 million in ABS-CBN’s newest game show “Minute to Win It.”

Luis Manzano, host of Minute to Win It

From the international production company that brought you the local versions of “The Biggest Loser” and “MasterChef,” “Minute to Win It” made waves in the United States and around the world for its highly addictive and nerve-wracking games that challenge ordinary people to hone their skills for a chance to change their lives. It has been franchised in 40 countries, including Australia, India, and the United Kingdom.

The Philippine version of “Minute to Win It” will be hosted by Luis Manzano. Contestants take part in a series of challenges that utilize readily available items, in less than 60 seconds each. With each level increasing in difficulty and cash prize, contestants will have to decide if they stop playing and take the money they’ve earned, or continue for a shot at P1 million.

Try-outs for the game show will open on January 7 and 8, 8AM at the ABS-CBN Center Road in Quezon City to people 18 years old and above. Interested participants are encouraged to practice at home the games mentioned above.

Challenges that also await participants also include fanning three raw eggs with a pizza box into a pre-designated area on the other side of the stage, stacking eight octagon bolts on top of each other using a barbecue stick to form a tower that must be freestanding for three seconds, tossing a water bottle and getting it to land upright on a table five feet away, and sucking candies with a straw and placing them one at a time on straws standing vertically.
